  • How can I improve indoor air quality?

Regular filter changes (once a month), invest in HVAC indoor air quality products (such as dehumidifiers, UV lights, or air purifiers), and regular maintenance.

  • What is the ideal temperature setting for my thermostat?

72-78 degrees is the ideal temperature setting for Houston, TX. Majority of Air Conditioning systems are only designed to cool 20-25 degree difference from outdoor ambient temperatures.

  • How can I improve the energy efficiency of my HVAC system?

Regular scheduled routine maintenance is recommended to ensure that the systems are clean and running at 100%.

  • How often should I get maintenance and change filters on my system?

Systems are recommended to be serviced twice a year, at least once in the fall and once in the spring. Having regular maintenance can reduce breakdowns and keep you running as efficiently as possible. Filters should be changed once every month and a minimum of every 3 months.

  • Why is my air conditioner freezing?

There are a few reasons why it could be freezing up including lack of airflow (dirty filter or dirty evaporator coil), no air flow (blower motor issue), or low on refrigerant/restriction.

  • How do you determine if an HVAC system should be repaired or replaced?

There are several factors to consider: Age of the system, warranty, and cost of repair. Each situation is unique, so consulting with an HVAC professional is essential to making an informed choice. We at Cy-Fair Heating & AC give options on both repairs and replacement.

  • Do you offer a preventative Maintenance agreement?
